Jaime Valdiavia is from Jalisco, Mexico. He carries mariachi music in his veins and melodies deep in his heart. Like his father, he began playing the guitar since he was a boy and wanted to be like his father, a mariachi performer. Mariachi music has run in the family through many generations. He grew up listening to Jose Alfredo Jimenez one of the most famous composers in Mexico. Jaime plays the guitarron and his father the violin.
In the pursuit of the American dream, he migrated to the US over 15 years ago and it was in the streets of East L.A. where he began his musical group.
Today, Jaime and his group, Mariachi Perla de Jalisco, is one of the most prominent and sought-after groups at Plaza del Mariachi in Boyle Heights.
They play all types of events including weddings, quinciañeras, birthdays and even at funerals. “It doesn’t matter what the event is, our music will get to your heart” affirms Jaime.
Jaime Valdivia es un Jalisqueño que lleva la sangre de mariachi en sus venas y la música en su Corazón. Jaime es originario de la Barca, Jalisco y al igual que su padre, empezó desde pequeño a tocar la guitarra y a seguir los pasos en las andadas de la música, el cual era un oficio familiar de ya varias generaciones. Creció escuchando a su héroe musical Jose Alfredo Jiménez. El Padre de Jaime toca violín y Jaime toca guitarrón.
En busca del sueño americano, Jaime emigro a los Estados Unidos hace más de 15 años y fue en las calles de Boyle Heights del Este De Los Ángeles, donde inicio su grupo musical. Hoy en día, Jaime y su grupo Mariachi Perla de La barca Jalisco, es uno de los mariachis más populares y buscados por sus clientes en la plaza del Mariachi. Se especializan tocando todo tipo de eventos, incluyendo Bodas, Quinceañeras, cumpleaños y hasta sepulcros. “No importa cuál sea el evento social, nuestra música te llega al Corazón” comenta Valdivia.
